Best Wishes Judi!
On Tuesday morning, TPS said thank you to Judi Dodd for all of her hard work at Tungamah and Katamatite East PS, as the business manager for many years.
Judi had a lovey morning tea with fellow colleagues and students. Judi was also presented with gifts and flowers to say thank you and congratulations.
I am positive I am speaking on behalf of many people when I say that you will be missed.
We wish Judi all the very best in her retirement. May your retirement bring you a bright future and new possibilities.

Remembrance Day 2016
Today Friday 11th of November we went to the Mulwala RSL to pay our respects for Remembrance Day. Miss Purcell bought each child a red poppy to wear to show remembrance and commemorate those who have made the supreme sacrifice. The students also presented the War Wall a wreath to pay our respects. Lest we forget.
Thank you to Mr Les Harrison who accompanied us today.

Water Safety
Today we had Sandy and Morgan come out from the YMCA to talk to us about water safety. The students had lots of fantastic questions about how to keep safe near water. We thank the YMCA for coming out to speak to us!

Melbourne Zoo
Today TPS went to the Melbourne Zoo. Thank you to all of the students who made it a wonderful day of learning and fun. We got to see most of the animal enclosures and the rain held off until the very end.
The students also got to purchase a little gift from the zoo shop, which I am sure they will treasure forever!
We thank Mrs Mac, Mrs Werner and Kerry our bus driver, for looking after us all and making it an enjoyable day out.

Tungamah Police Station Visit
Today we walked down and visited Jo and Brent Yearwood, our wonderful police officers. We got to learn about the very important roles our amazing police officers have within our community. Jo and Brent showed us the new and improved police station and taught us about the importance of having the police in the area to keep us all safe. We thank them both for a fantastic opportunity to go play and explore the Tungamah Police Station. Out next visit with Jo and Brent will be based on cyber safety and ensuring students understand the need to keep safe online.

Wangaratta Traffic School
Today we went to the Wangaratta Traffic School with the Kinder children. We learnt all about road safety and how to keep safe when we are out near traffic.
We also got to learn about some of the road rules while riding bikes.

Cluster Day at Currawa Primary School
On Tuesday we went to Currawa Primary School to watch the Opera Show: El Kid.
It was a fabulous production and the students enjoyed the magic tricks.

Police Talk
Today we had our local police officers, the Yearwood’s, come up to school and talk about their role in our community. All of the students listened well to their talk and also had some hard hitting questions.
The students got to use a breathalyser, look at what a police officer’s uniform consists of and also feel how heavy their belts are.
We thank Jo and Brent for coming up to see us and discuss with us their important role in our community.
We are looking forward to our next visit, the local police station in Tungamah.

Thank you to everyone who came along to the first Auskick session for 2016. We had a great turn out at Tungamah Primary School. Auskick will run every Wednesday from 4.30pm for 7 more sessions. Today we had state wide transition day. The new preppies got to experience a whole day at Tungamah Primary. We had lots of fun throughout the day with a Bluearth session and reading groups. We thank Brent and Jo Yearwood who came up and had a chat to the students about what it's like to be a police officer and their role in our local community.
We hope the grade 6 students had a lovely day at their new high schools also!

We have already begun our athletics training for the annual athletics carnival on September 11th in Benalla. The students have been training hard and getting prepared for the events.
Parents and friends of the students are more than welcome to come along in the afternoons and help out on events if they would like.

Grade 5/6 Transition Day gallery
Cluster Day at Devenish
Last Thursday 11th June the students went to Devenish to participate in our termly Cluster Day. The day was wonderful with the weather being sunny and not too cold! The students participated in a range of activities with other students from Longwood, Devenish, Broken Creek and the Australian Christian College (Benalla) in the morning session.
In the afternoon, the students were treated to a Poly Indonesian performance. The students got to learn a few moves and also learnt about the cultural influence of music to their area. We thank Mr Brown from Devenish for the great day! |

Gallipoli Oak Tree
We would like to thank John and Pam O’Dwyer and Judy Barnes who came up to school this morning with the Gallipoli Oak plaque.
They have done a wonderful job with placing the plaque on a rock to signify the seedling.
We are very thankful for the top effort they have done! The seedling is growing every day and the students are taking great care of it.

DOXA Camp 2015
DOXA Camp This morning the grade 5/6's, Miss Halligan and Miss Purcell, have left for Melbourne Doxa Camp along with Springhurst, Devenish and Broken Creek.
Doxa Camp provides country kids the opportunity to experience the city and learn about historic monuments such as visiting the Shrine of Remembrance. It is a huge week for everyone and we will keep you posted on our adventures! Day 2Day 4 |

Western Bulldogs Visit 18.02.2015
Today we had Matthew Fuller from the Western Bulldogs pop out to Tungamah Primary for a footy session with the students. Sadly we were due to visit the players in Yarrawonga for a Super Clinic but due to rain it was cancelled.
The students had a wonderful with Matthew and had lots of questions for him! We thank Matthew for coming out to visit and spend some time with our school! |

Bluearth - 03.02.2015
BluearthToday we have had Brandon from Bluearth come and do a session with all of the students and Miss Purcell.Bluearth is a program that teaches students how to work in a team, play fair, self umpire and have fun. We do Bluearth every fortnight on Tuesday in the morning session. Parents are more than welcome and come and see what Bluearth is about on these Tuesday mornings every second week. As you can see we all had a great time today!

Cluster Day at Tungamah 12th August 2014
Today we had Brandon from Bluearth come to school to run some sessions with all of the students from Thoona, Devenish, Broken Creek and Tungamah. The day has had positive feedback from both staff and students which is fantastic! Thank you to Brandon who took the sessions and taught the students some new games for Bluearth. We are planning to have another get together by the end of the term at Broken Creek as these days are a wonderful opportunity for all of the students to make new friends! Miss Purcell J |

National Tree Planting Day - 25.07.2014
National Tree Day
Today, Friday 25th July 2014 we had National Tree Day. The school had $100 to spend from the Moira Shire to buy plants from the Australian Native Farm Forestry nursery in Cobram East. The school decided on purchasing hedges and planted them down along the fence line at the front of the school on the oval. Luckily Mr Grant was at school to lend a hand with the digging! We also thank Kylie Carter for coming down to help! The students will now be watering these plants weekly and watching them grow. |

Aths Training
Cluster Day Term 3
Yesterday, Monday 21st July, Tungamah Primary went to
Devenish for our term 3 cluster day. We had a special guest Jessie, who is the
Australian Champion in arm wrestling. The students had a wonderful time in
learning about the skill of arm wrestling and how win over their opponent!
We also had Lucas, the aboriginal culture musician who taught the students about traditional aboriginal music and their instruments. The students got to do a lot of singing along and had a lot of fun! We thank Mr Brown for the great day out! Thank you to the Tungamah students for being great representatives of our school.
